Install Ubuntu side by side with Windows
Now Ubuntu can be installed side by side with Windows without having to uninstall windows first. Simply by providing an empty partition of 20GB. If you have only one hard drive partition, make sure available at least 20GB free for installing Linux Ubuntu 9.04
If the disk is ready (at least 20GB of empty space), insert the Ubuntu CD (I use the 9:04 version) and restart your computer. The computer will boot using a live CD Ubuntru, wait and follow all the instructions that appear. When asked to use the entire hard disk or in part, choose portion and move the slider to determine the large hard drive that will be used by the Ubuntu OS.
Next is a personal setup and user accounts, after all finished the computer will restart, remove the CD and it’s done. You will be asked to use what OS each time turned on the computer, Can you choose any option you like, you can try and determine which one is best for you.
