Gmail Cyber Attack on China
Internet giant Google has said it may end its operations in China following a “sophisticated and targeted” cyber attack originating from the country. It did not accuse Beijing directly, but said it was no longer willing to censor its Chinese search engine – google.cn. This could result in closing the site, and its Chinese offices, Google said. Google Inc. has publicly stated that it is considering pulling out of the fast-growing Chinese market. The statement was made as a result of an investigation over several weeks into China’s Internet censorship system that revealed a systematic and targeted hacking into Google’s corporate infrastructure. Breaching US defence Site, Hacker Arrested
A young 22-year-old hacker has been arrested in Batna, Algeria, by special units of the countrys justice on a request by Interpol. The hacker arrested as he allegedly managed to access a site of the US Defence Department and destroying some secret files. (more)

Albert Gonzalez, the 28-year-old Miami hacker accused of helping to orchestrate the largest credit card heist in US history, may not have understood he was committing a crime because he has a developmental disorder, according to information his attorneys have submitted to federal court in Boston. Internet Security Breach Found at UCSF
Hackers may have had access to personal information for about 600 UCSF patients as a result of an Internet “phishing” scam, campus officials said Tuesday.
The security breach occurred in September when a faculty physician in the UCSF School of Medicine provided a user name and password in response to a scam e-mail message. (more)
